Ward and June always liked to use their silver pieces for Sunday dinner, rather than save them only for the Holidays...Atomic amoeba-shape 50s Mid-Century Modern WMF German pearlized silverplate over brass bowl, with footed base. All WMF-IKORA pieces are tarnish resistant, known for a spectacular Mother of Pearl-type finish and bright trim that is found on no other type of silverplate. It as never been replicated. since its creation in 1925. The piece has one light surface scratch and the remnants of a label on the bottom. The interior finish of the 9" serving bowl is in beautiful, very gently used condition, with only a couple of very light utensil marks from serving spoons. A very sophisticated silverplated estate piece for any Retro home. Bowl is etched with the WMF-EP Brass-Germany mark on the base.
