Ward and June always liked to use silver pieces on a weekly basis, rather than save them only for the Holidays...Very sharp Mid-Century leaf shape IKORA German pearlized silverplate over brass serving dish, with footed base. All WMF-IKORA pieces are tarnish resistant, with a spectacular Mother of Pearl-type finish and bright trim that is found on no other type of silverplate and has never been replicated. The handle has a vining grapes motif, seen in the earliest Ikora pieces. The piece has developed a couple of spots of coppery patina on the bottom over its long life. The interior finish of the 9 1/2" x 8" dish is in beautiful, very gently used condition, with only a couple of very light utensil marks from serving spoons.
